A slow instrument moved by pressure changes too small to notice. The mechanics remain exposed, but nothing moves without a reason.

Mechanical object / slow cycle
A machine that performs one precise movement with no useful outcome. Backlash, vibration and sound were reduced until the remaining action felt inevitable.

02 / Material intelligence
The first edge establishes every later error. Kerf, heat and grain direction are accounted for before the tool starts.
Metal resists, then remembers. Bend allowance is calculated; springback is learned from the actual sheet.
A joint is also a heat event. Sequence controls distortion, penetration, colour and what must remain visible.
Removal is irreversible. The hand follows the plane without erasing the evidence that gives it scale.
Temperature becomes both tool and finish: correcting a radius, releasing stress, writing colour into stainless steel.
Bolts, pins, welds and interference fits are chosen for assembly, transport, repair and the life of the object.
Weight is moved through a structure until effort disappears. Apparent impossibility depends on precise force paths.
A surface is not cosmetic. It determines touch, reflection, weathering, maintenance and how the form occupies light.
03 / Process
The workshop does not move cleanly from idea to object. It measures, pushes, discovers the weak assumption, and returns with better information.
04 / Djuppe
Djuppe works between engineering, industrial design, metal fabrication and contemporary sculpture. Each object starts with a load, a tolerance or a stubborn piece of material.
The workshop is a place for full-scale thinking: cut, tack, test, fail, revise. The finished work keeps evidence of that negotiation—heat at an edge, a seam held under tension, weight made unexpectedly quiet.
